Level Up your poetic craft
monthly small group mentoring - a tweak (and more)
Hello! After a recent survey of the poets among us, we have made some tweaks to our monthly poetry workshop, Level Up - from September, this will run on a Friday morning 9.15am - 12.15am (first Friday of the month). There are currently two spots available for the autumn term. This will be perfect for you if you’re already writing poems - each session dives into the essential building blocks of poetic practice, from reading to refining your voice, helping you build confidence and broaden your poetic range. Led by JLM Morton.
“A fantastic, rich and inspiring workshop with a skilled and very interesting poet. She really hit the spot. Thank you” ~ recent workshop feedback for JLM
While you’re here… we’ve got some other lovely events coming up:
Poetry Walk with Philip Rush at Avening on the 13th August - not to be missed, these dusk walks are magical. Join Philip for poems, conversation and as yet unknown enchantments, 7.30p (£12/10). Sign up here.
Regional Writers’ Meet Up on Saturday 13th September - we’re doing an experiment, opening up a free space on a quarterly basis for writers based around the West of England to build community and connection. All writers, any level, welcome. Free, Stroud Library. Sign up here.
Bats! Walk and Words on Thursday 18th September. Join us for an evening walk and find out more about our incredible local bats which we will track with bat detectors, stopping along the way to read some bat-inspired words to encourage our own writing after the event. With local writer and bat expert Ivi Szaboova. Stratford Park, Stroud, 7pm. Sign up here.
All for now! x
