A self-directed writing workshop for Spring
Throughout spring and running in parallel to in-person workshops at Sladebank Woods near Stroud in Gloucestershire, we are offering a self-directed writing workshop which you can do anywhere in the world.
Each season we will be exploring place-based concepts of entanglement - the idea that humans and nature are intricately interwoven, shaping one another’s lives in ways both visible and unseen.
Through a combination of personal field trips (walks!), readings, experiential activities, and reflective exercises, you will spark new writing and be encouraged to grow and extend your initial ideas.
For spring, our prompts are around gathering, mark-making, lore, air, care and seeds to plant and nurture through the coming weeks and months.
This workshop offers a unique space for a deeper appreciation of our interconnected nature and is open to writers working at any level and in any form.
How it works
After you have signed up to the workshop, you will be sent a reading pack with prompts and ideas to spark new writing. You can go at your own pace, doing all the prompts together in one go (up to 2 days' writing) or space them out over time - enjoy as you wish. The reading pack will be sent within 24 hours, probably sooner (this is to account for different time zones as the pack is sent manually).

While you’re here… you might be interested in a series of in-person, circular Spring poetry walks led by the wonderful Philip Rush through the Gloucestershire countryside. The next one is on 22nd April, meeting at Duntisbourne Rouse. Find out more.
