join us to write on the Autumn Equinox
Autumn equinox is a moment of balance in the year when day and night are of equal length. It’s a time to appreciate the abundance summer has provided and to prepare for the shortening days and the transition into autumn and winter.
Writing about the seasons is a wonderful way of feeling time, becoming grounded in time and place, crucial skills of any writer. It’s also a great exercise in observation and being sensitive to change. This time of year calls on us to think about roots and about planting seeds that will incubate through the darkness and emerge again in spring, strengthened by the cold.
We’re offering our newsletter subscribers a special discount to join JLM Morton on the autumn equinox this Sunday at Sladebank Woods near Stroud to explore these themes in our ‘Human=Nature’ writing workshop - suitable for all writers - beginners and more experienced - working in any form.
