Elements
pay what you can online workshops
There’s something ancient and steadying about returning to the elements - earth, fire, air, water - especially in a world that feels increasingly abstracted from them. Dialect is offering a new five‑session online workshop series, Elements, led by writer and editor Philip Rush. A chance to slow down, read closely, and write from a place where landscape meets language.
Each week focuses on one of the classical elements. You’ll explore how poets and prose writers have approached them, and then create your own work in response. The structure is simple:
Close reading of one prose piece and one poem
A guided prompt to spark new writing
Group sharing and discussion the following week
Whether you’re looking to refresh your writing practice, reconnect with the natural world, or simply carve out a weekly creative ritual, Elements offers a thoughtful, nourishing starting space. For this workshop series, we’re also offering a sliding scale of pay what you can fees. If you’re curious, you can read more or sign up via the button below.
